How do I get my business to show up on Google?

Short answer

Create and verify a free Google Business Profile so you appear on Google Maps and local results, then add your website to Google Search Console and submit a sitemap so Google can find your pages. Give each service and location its own clear page, keep your name, address and phone the same everywhere, and ask happy customers for reviews.

Set up Google Business Profile

  1. 1Go to Google Business Profile and sign in with your business Google account.
  2. 2Add your business name, category, address or service area, phone number, hours and website.
  3. 3Complete verification using the method Google offers you.
  4. 4Add real photos of your premises, team and work, and keep hours updated for holidays.
  5. 5Post updates and answer questions from the profile occasionally so it stays active.

Help Google find your website

  1. 1Add your site to Google Search Console and verify ownership (a domain property covers all versions of your site).
  2. 2Submit your sitemap; WordPress SEO plugins, Shopify, Wix and Squarespace generate one automatically, usually at /sitemap.xml.
  3. 3Use the URL Inspection tool to check that important pages can be indexed and request indexing if needed.
  4. 4Check the Pages report for pages Google cannot index and why.

Give Google something to rank

  • Create one page per main service, written the way customers search, for example "AC repair in Surat".
  • If you serve several cities, make a genuinely useful page for each rather than copies with only the city name changed.
  • Write a unique page title and meta description for every page.
  • Keep your business name, address and phone number identical on your site, Google profile and directories such as Justdial or IndiaMART.

Reviews and patience

Ask satisfied customers to leave a Google review and reply to every review, including negative ones, politely. New sites and pages can take weeks to be indexed and longer to rank, so keep publishing useful content rather than changing everything at once.

When to get help

If your pages are not being indexed, your site has technical errors in Search Console, or you need service and location pages built properly, a developer can fix the underlying issues. DCPL Technology's web team in Surat can set up Search Console, fix indexing and structured data problems, and build pages that are easy for both customers and search engines to read.
