How do I add a new page to my website?

Plan the page first

• Decide the one job of the page, for example explaining a single service or answering a customer question.
• Choose a short URL that describes it, such as /services/interior-design rather than /page-12.
• Gather the text, photos and any call to action (call, WhatsApp, enquiry form) before you start.

Create it on your platform

• WordPress: go to Pages, then Add New, write the content in the block editor (or open it with your page builder), set the permalink, and click Publish.
• Shopify: go to Online Store, then Pages, then Add page; pick a page template if your theme offers one, and save.
• Wix: in the editor, open the Pages menu, add a new page, design it, and Publish.
• Squarespace: in the Pages panel, click the add button, choose a blank page or layout, add content, and save.
• Custom sites: if you have an admin panel or CMS, look for a pages or content section; if every page is built in code, a developer needs to create the template.

Make it findable

1. 1Add the page to your main menu or footer, or link to it from related pages, so visitors and Google can reach it.
2. 2Write a page title and meta description in your SEO settings or SEO plugin.
3. 3Use one main heading and descriptive subheadings so the page is easy to scan.
4. 4Add alt text to images that explains what they show.
5. 5If you use Google Search Console, request indexing for the new URL.

Before you share it

Open the page on a phone and a desktop, test every button and form, and read it once more for typos and old information. Make sure the design matches the rest of your site so it does not look like a different business.
