How do I keep separate books for several firms that share the same looms?
Short answer
Keep shared things — looms, beams, takas and stock — in one place, and give each firm its own GSTIN, invoice series, bank, prints, books and GST returns. Record every sale and purchase against the firm that made it, and combine firms only in reports. Software built for this, such as Loomiro, lets you switch firm with one key instead of keeping separate files.

What stays shared and what stays separate
- Shared: the looms, beams, takas produced and stock in the unit.
- Separate per firm: GSTIN, invoice series, bank account, invoice prints, ledgers and GST returns.
- Combined only when you choose: management reports across all firms.
Setting it up cleanly
- 1List every firm with its GSTIN, invoice prefix and bank details.
- 2Decide which firm bills which party, and record each invoice under that firm.
- 3Give staff access only to the firms they work on.
- 4Lock past periods once returns are filed so old entries are not changed by mistake.
- 5Review each firm's outstanding and GST reports separately every month, then the combined view.
Example: Loomiro
In Loomiro, DCPL Technology's weaving unit software, looms, beams, takas and stock are shared while each firm keeps its own GSTIN, invoice series, bank, prints, books and GST returns. Users press F7 to switch firm, the owner chooses which firms each person can see, and reports can combine all firms when needed.
When to get help
Your CA should confirm how the firms are registered and filed. For the day-to-day records, a demo of Loomiro on your own firms shows how the books stay separate while production stays shared.
